Is this really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no paywall, and no limit on how many invoices you can create. The site is supported by ads.
Do you store my invoices or business data?
No. Everything you type happens in your browser. Your business profile and recent clients/items are saved only to your browser’s local storage so you don’t have to retype them next time — they are never sent to a server. Clearing your browser data or clicking "Clear saved data" removes them.
Which tax should I charge?
It depends on your client’s province. Use the quick tax preset in the generator, or see the full breakdown on our GST/HST/PST/QST rates by province page. This tool doesn’t file or track taxes for you — it just helps you calculate and display them on the invoice.
Can I use this if I’m not GST/HST-registered?
Yes. The GST/HST number field and the tax field are both optional — leave the tax rate at 0% if you don’t charge tax.
Can I invoice clients outside Canada?
Yes. Switch the currency to USD, or leave the tax fields blank if they don’t apply to that client.
Does this generate a sequential invoice number automatically?
It suggests the next number based on the last one you used on this device (e.g. INV-0001 → INV-0002), but you can always edit it. Because nothing is stored on a server, the sequence is per-browser, not global.
Can I add my logo?
Yes — upload it in the "Your business" section. It’s embedded directly into the PDF and, like everything else, never leaves your browser.
Is this invoice legally compliant?
The generator lets you include everything the CRA typically expects on an invoice (see our invoice requirements guide), but this is a formatting tool, not tax or legal advice. Confirm your specific obligations with the CRA or an accountant.
